“This jacket is a reflection of the evolution of Hypeadelic. It’s constructed entirely from saved scrap fabrics of past projects that were ultimately destined for the trash. Fabrics with their own origins, previous lives, and history. Every project these fabrics have been a part of, every experiment that didn’t work out, and every person that touched these textiles play a part in contributing to this exact moment. The creation of this jacket is a full circle realization: bringing together pieces of the past to create the present. Everything that’s ever happened in your life has led you to be right here, right now.”

The Cut & Sew Show brings together some of the most exciting independent artists and designers working today, each given the same unfinished chore coat to reimagine through their own creative practice.
Presented by Shelter Cultivation Project in partnership with April Cornell, the exhibition explores the intersection of art, fashion, design, textiles, and making. Each artist brings their own materials, techniques, and creative language to the garment, resulting in a collection of one-of-a-kind works.
