Our Shima Stripe Boro Smuggler Tote is handmade in Vermont using antique Japanese textiles. Each element is incredible on it's own and has a story to tell. The body fabric is from a handwoven Japanese shima stripe boro blanket that I found at the Kobo-ichi market in Kyoto. The front pocket is an antique Japanese sashiko blanket and the base is from an indigo dyed Kendogi jacket. We finished it off with hand dyed deadstock USAF parachute webbing.
